We focus on understanding individual's paradigms that might impede their success and seek to provide the tools with which they might learn to see the world differently. When people deviate from doing their best, it is likely that one or more negative experiences have impacted their paradigms.
Our approach is partially based on training and practice in Kaizen philosophy, which states that everyone, everywhere, every day should seek to improve practices and processes.
We believe soundly that organizations should hire people they trust to make the best choices for the organization. As such, leadership should look to the individuals and teams performing the work to better understand how to change and improve, working within a Total Systems approach that understands and considers change impact to all areas of the business.
Voice of the Customer should drive many change decisions. Any changes made should consider what the customer (whether internal or external) is willing to support or pay for. For example, if an internal process is waste-heavy and results in passed-on higher costs to the customer, the organization should consider making a change to the process.
We believe that ever-changing social, economic, political and technology forces directly impact all businesses in some way, and we work with clients to identify, understand, and contingency-plan for potential impacts.
As OD practitioners partnering with the organization as a whole, we strive to provide clients with the insight that they are not only responsible for making the right changes and decisions, but that with the right tools and training, they are capable of doing it on their own. We take a "teach a man to fish" approach with a weaning off period at the end of the intervention for support and reassurance.
